And Baby Centre has now earmarked names inspired by Ikea as a potential new trend to sweep the nation.

The furniture manufacturer often chooses traditional Scandinavian names for its products with the Billy bookcase, Malm bed and Tarva wooden range among its most popular lines.

宜家公司常選擇傳統(tǒng)斯堪的納維亞名字給產(chǎn)品命名，最受歡迎的產(chǎn)品有比利書架、馬爾姆床和塔爾瓦實(shí)木家具系列等等。

Writer Lucy BC suggests: ’Naming your baby after IKEA furniture might seem ridiculous at first glance, but don’t dismiss the idea!

’IKEA is known for the charming Scandinavian names it gives its products and many work surprisingly well as baby names.’

She goes on to suggest Malm, a name which has been used by Ikea for it’s ’simple, streamlined design’ bedroom range.

However, not all names are completely unusual, with Cilla, Franklin, Tobias and Stefan among the names already more common in the UK.
